With the increasing number of extremely hot days due to climate change, the app aims to ensure that workers are aware of their rights under the Bauarbeiter-Schlechtwetterentschädigungsgesetz (BSchEG). According to this law, employers can suspend work on construction sites when the temperature reaches 32.5 degrees Celsius in the shade, and workers are entitled to 60% of their hourly wage without having to work.
The app features a direct "real-time interface" to the nearest weather station operated by the Zentralanstalt für Meteorologie und Geodynamik (ZAMG) at the construction site.
